About

jazz bass wiring.jpeg

Hey — I’m Steven, and I fix guitars for a living.

I’m the co-founder and head technician of Roady Repair, a guitar and gear repair service based in Los Angeles. I’ve been professionally repairing instruments for the past 7 years, but the truth is, I’ve been obsessed with guitars and tone for way longer than that. I’ve played, toured, recorded, and worked on just about every kind of rig — from beat-up pawn shop specials to stage-ready custom builds.

Lonely Frets is my personal outlet.
It’s a place to share the stories, repairs, tools, and lessons I’ve picked up along the way. Whether I’m rewiring a Tele, dialing in the action on a Les Paul, or tracking down a mystery buzz, every guitar on my bench teaches me something new — and this blog is where I pass that on.

I also post POV repair videos on YouTube and walkthroughs on Instagram so players, beginners, and aspiring techs can see exactly how the work gets done. It’s my way of giving back to the community and lifting the curtain on a field that too often feels closed off or intimidating.

Thanks for stopping by.
Let’s fix your tone.
